Letter #04: LSS: The List
New launches ++ things to see, do, shop, or just browse
Like all things, the internet can surprise and delight (looking at you, wonderful Harris Dickinson as the new face of Rhode make-up), or it can shock and confuse (looking at you, Labubu - monster-in-chief of the month).
I woke up a week or so ago to my husband telling me about a fight breaking out in a store near us over a Labubu. On a similar such morning, I woke up to a text message from my darling friend in Mumbai (WhatsApp floods my morning routine — thanks life move in your 30s when all your friends basically live in another time zone), asking me to bring her a Labubu the next time I make my way home. Talk about a tall ask. I’d have to sharpen my elbows to make my way to the most-wanted aisle in a store these days.
Now, designer Dhruv Kapoor is making them. And the only question I have on my mind: where and how is he getting his supply?!
Next up on the internet (yes, I am terminally online): Coperni’s five-foot shoe. You know those odd-ball shoes you’d see hikers wearing, especially the more serious, niche ones - in the shape of your foot quite literally - with toe gaps and a glove-like fit (ew) — that but more metallic and cool-girl by the Paris-based fashion brand of Disneyland fashion show fame. Would you wear it? Also — why are we so into ugly things right now?
I had the pleasure of spending a glorious 45 minutes at The Sutherland Suite lately at The Connaught in London with Saie. Tea sandwiches and chats with French make-up artist Charlotte Prevel as she brushed and transformed my face with Saie products — their blush, concealer and a new little launch that you’ll find out more about on July 1st. Those who know me, know that I am a Saie slave. I use their cream blush, slip tint foundation, concealer, mascara and gorgeous glow-y goodness formula, on the regular. And those who know me well enough, get some Saie goodies of their own from me from time to time. Because a good find is best when it is shared with others.
